Chemical engineers and renewable energy engineers may work together or isolation.
Renewable energy engineers are involved in design, operation, maintainence and harnessing energy from tidal energy, solar energy, geothermal energy, wind energy etc.
Chemical engineers are involved in design, operation, maintainence of plants for producing valuable chemicals, materials, or generating cleaner energy, environmentally safe systems and evaluate processes and products. Chemical engineers can become renewable energy engineers when they get involved with fuel cells, next generation hydrogen technologies, green manufacturing, nuclear energy, bio-fuels,geothermal energy etc etc.
Chemical energy is both renewable and non-renewable in different situations. When burning fossile fuel, it is non-renewable. But it is renewable with flowers as long as their source remains available. So if the chemical the energy is being produced from is renewable, then the chemical energy will be too.
natural chemical energy is a renewable one, but man made chemicals are not....

A disadvantage of chemical energy is that it comes from non renewable energy sources.. some chemical energy causes pollution and some chemical energy are bad for our health.

This is biomass.
Green design
The first fire was the first release of chemical energy thousand years ago.
Renewable energy can't run out. Non-renewable energy WILL run out. Renewable energy is produced at a constant rate, non-renewable is not. Renewable energy is free when the generator is built, non-renewable is not. Renewable energy does not cause pollution (with the exception of biofuels), non-renewable energy does.
The most popular renewable energy sources currently are: Solar energy. Wind energy. Hydro energy. Tidal energy. Geothermal energy. Biomass energy.
The six forms of renewable energy are mechanical, electric, electromagnetic, chemical, nuclear, and thermal. Thanks!! =D
