Try This.Instead of giving your turtle food everyday or whenever you do.Buy it live feeder fish then pour them in the tank.So the turtle gets the option to eat whenever it wants to.
Eastern Painted Turtles LOVE sliced hard boiled eggs. Especially females and babies. Just don't give it to them too often or let them gorge themselves to the puking point. They are also crazy about turtle pellets, live feeder fish, small snails, tiny tadpoles, and aquatic plants. Although I haven't given to my Easties yet, I have heard that, every once in a while, you can give them raw ground beef, cooked chicken, and soggy dog food.
