Skinheads are people who dislike or look down on other cultures other than their own. They believe that people who are not "pure blood", in other words, all American, British, etc are invading or not worthy of being in their country. A lot of them follow the beliefs of Adolf Hitler, and most of them shave their heads, hence the reason they are called Skinheads. They are in many countries including Australia, America, and England.

The Skinhead movement was started in England, as a few younger extremists wanted to take the Punk movement to a new level. In the US, there was already the KKK (Klu Klux Klan) that was a advocate for white supremacy, however, they had a hard time recruiting the younger generation. Over time, as the Punk music made its way into the US, the skinhead lifestyle also made its way here. And yes, skinheads are Nazi sympathizers, some believe that it was the ultimate way to rebel against society, and others just believe that it's just what they do. Well, when the skinheads made their way to the US, they were also trying to join the KKK to help with the White Power movement, however, the KKK thinks that they're too out of control and do not properly represent what the KKK believes in, so to this day, skinheads are mostly drunk, short tempered, violent, white, and kind of a thorn in the side for local communities.

∙ 13y agoFirst of all, there is no single type of skinhead. Skinheads began as a working-class youth subculture in England in the late 1960's. They were not overtly political, but were merely an expression of the blue-collar frustration that was prevalent at the time (there was a financial crisis in that country during that period, which left many lower income idividuals out of work). They wore steel-toed boots and "braces" (thin suspenders) and cut their hair short to emulate the look of a typical industrial worker. Their primary targets were "mods", upper-class youths who dressed and acted in a manner that obnoxiously reflected their high income.
Various extremist political factions that were popping up at the same time (both far-right and far-left) began recruiting skinheads as "street soldiers", as these kids were generally not afraid of a good fight (as proven against mods). The far right influence produced "White Power" and "Neo-Nazi" skinheads, while the leftist influence produced "SHARPs" (Skin Heads Against Racial Prejudice) and "RASH" (Red or Anarchist Skin Heads). Skinheads who reject extreme politics and remain unaffiliated or centrist are called "Trads" (traditional skinheads).

If you mean, are there any people still alive who belonged to the Nazi party in Germany and assisted in the genocide known as the Holocaust, then yes, there are still a few around, although they are of course quite elderly now. If you mean, is Nazism still around today, then, the answer is also yes. Nazism has never died. It just changes and evolves. There is a movement known as "Neo-Nazism" that idolizes and celebrates the Nazi party and their crimes. It goes without saying that they are deeply, deeply anti-Semitic and believe all the classic bigoted myths about Jewish people (Jews are greedy and dishonest, Jews are controlling the world, all Jews know each other and are secretly planning to take over the world, Jews hate and oppress non-Jews, etc., etc.). Neo-Nazis are often associated with skinheads. However, it is very important to note that all skinheads are NOT Neo-Nazis. Neo-Nazi skinheads are an embarrassing subgroup of regular skinheads. Originally, being a skinhead had nothing to do with anti-Semitism or racism. It was a musical movement, really. It was an offshoot of the punk movement. Regular skinheads hate Neo-Nazi skinheads as much as the rest of us do, and they really do not appreciate being confused with those people. So don't just assume that anybody with a shaved head, a wife-beater, and Doc Marten boots is a Neo-Nazi, because it may not be the case!

Skinheads came directly from the Rude Boy culture in Jamaica in the late 50's and early 60's, and a good majority of skinheads were, and still are, black and ethnic. When Jamaicans started to immigrate to the UK in the late 60's and early 70's, the Rude Boy culture mixed with the growing rock and punk scene, and this is essentially where Skinheads came from. The image of the Non-Racist Skinheads was pretty much irreparably busted when the National Front in England started to enlist the more rowdy of the skinheads and the ones that were latently racist to begin with and basically turned them into a thug army. Nowadays, most people are completely unaware that there is even such a thing as a Non-Racist Skinhead, which MOST of the skinheads that you will ever see, are. The racist faction is a small and pathetic one.
