First Aid

ABC is an acronym used in rescue and first aid, meaning "Airway, Breathing, Circulation". These are the first conditions one checks -- in this order -- upon reaching a trauma victim.

First, see if they are breathing and the airway is open. Check again for breathing -- if they aren't breathing, start resuscitation. Check then for Circulation -- this means both pulse and heartbeat (first), and then bleeding.

Television

ABC is the "American Broadcasting Company", created in 1943 and currently owned (2009) by the Walt Disney Company. It can also mean the "Australian Broadcasting Corporation" (Australia) and the "Associated Broadcasting Company" (Philippines).
