Cell phones actually weren't much different than today's except their dimensions were bigger, none had cameras, internet or email. The games were almost as crappy as the reception and roaming was a nightmare. You might be on the outskirts of town and your phone would go into roaming with a different carrier. I had a Cingular phone then that would switch to ATT roaming. I only had to pay that $300 bill once before I began shutting my phone off if I went out of town.
