I know this has been awhile so you probably have it fixed but Ill take a stab at it anyway. The locking mechanism can fail and the only thing you can do is call a lock smith. But, before you do look at 2 things. Several models have a lock button on the steering column that you must push to release the key. This can loose a pin and not work. Also it needs to be in the off position. You might need to remove the cover to see it. Some have an ACC position is is all the way counter clock wise. You need to be in the off position one click in the clockwise direction to get the key out. Lastly if the steering column is locked it can have pressure on the key not allowing it to move into the right position to come out. Just apply a turning force against the wheel and then try and turn it.
The key is probably jammed into the ignition by the parking brake you put there
its either the starter or your ignition
turn key over turn key over
To disarm a 1997 Toyota 4Runner factory alarm, place the key in the ignition. Turn the key about halfway ensuring the car does not start. Leave the key in that position for 10 to 15 minutes and start the car.
With the key in the off position tap it with a small hammer. Tap, pull, tap, pull, wiggle, tap, pull, tap............................
because its to cold
Replace the ignition cylinder wich should come with a new key and it will fix the problem.
TRY TURNING THE KEY OVER.
key wont turnthe ignition
Your key could be worn. Try moving your steering wheel while turning the ignition. If the locked steering is in a bind the key will not turn over.
So it would seem. If the ignition is in the column it may also be jammed by the steering wheel lock. Try turning the steering wheel and holding it while turning the ignition key.
the engine wont start unless you have the immobalizer key
