What do you do if you are married but fall in love with someone else who is not married but both have children?

I was also in this situation and it doesn't always work out that way. Both people in the marriage have to be in love and committed to each other to make the marriage work. If that is not present, it is very difficult to make things work out and the children do not benefit either. Unhappy partners make unhappy children. It depends on the situation between the two people.

• Children should always come first and when married with children a separation or divorce is extremely difficult on the children involved because they feel often that their parents have split up because it is their fault. Often the person cheating ends up the loser and finds the grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence; wants to get back into their former marriage and cannot because their spouse was hurt and possibly traumatized by the relationship their spouse had with someone else. People can be in too big a rush to get married and really never listen to the vows of marriage, but if a person loves their children and respects themselves (short of their mate being physically or verbally abusive to them) they should try everything they can to save that marriage. Any relationship whether it is marriage or a good friendship always takes a lot of work and neither are ever perfect. The truth about marriage is that after a year or so 'the honeymoon is over' meaning reality sets in and as the years go by and both spouses struggle through finances and problems that may arise in their marriage it becomes a little more difficult to try and spice up that marriage, but it can be done. If possible see a marriage counsellor even if it is on your own. Be wise and don't misconstrue love and infatuation. Good communication skills are a must in any relationship so perhaps sit down with your husband and let him know what needs he is not filling for you and you may be quite surprised you are not filling some of his needs either and you can both work to improve that problem. If you did leave your husband to be with this other man realize that eventually you will soon be in the same boat again ... the magic will wear off and you will probably be left with many regrets.
