No, because naturally there are no relationships that last in Grade school and since there are few to no relationships to being with then how could you ask just one person. Kids are to young to understand relationships even in Grade 8. so the answer would be no on the account of most kids not understanding what makes a true relationship last. Also if you dont have a date then it doesnt matter because it doesnt mean the your going to become in a serious relationship its just a dance.

Just go up to him and ask him, but try not to make it look like a deal. Pretend you've danced with a dozen guys and are just going down your list. You don't have to ask him out or anything.
