Does an ectopic pregnancy have to be terminated?

Yes. if a pregnancy has started outside the uterus it cannot survive and is extremely dangerous for the mother. Well, a baby cannot survive during an ectopic pregnancy. So the pregnancy will either be terminated or the baby will be lost before it is terminated.

I had an ectopic pregnancy Jan 06 at five weeks pregnant i am now 6 weeks pregnant what are the chances of this one being another ectopic?

All womens body's are different and react differently to ectopic pregnancy. You need to realize though that it can be very serious and in some cases can be fatal. If you think there is any chance that you have an ectopic you need to consult a Doctor or go to an ER for your own safety. I have had very serious female related problems including cancer and 4 late mid-term miscarriages and almost lost my life more than once. Don't take any chances.

What are the chances of conceiving again after having two ectopic pregnancies and having one tube remove?

chances of pregnancy may still be high, but chances of another eptopic pregnancy may be higher. eptopic pregancies are mostly cause to tubal blockage etc. If you still have some type of tubal/introuteral issue you may end up pregnant in the same situation. this is something i would speak with your doctor about. Its best if you want to conceive to make sure you have no female issues that will create a problem like eptopic pregnancy. im sure you and your doctor can check it out and you can be pregnant and have a healthy baby in no time. best wishes! :)

Is there such thing as a painless ectopic pregnancy?

I had an ectopic pregnancy and had no pain just mild discomfort (like gas) on the opposite side as the ectopic. I did have red blood spotting but only first thing in the morning they did HCG tests and my levels were not quite doubling so sent me in for a early ultrasound could not find anything with the abdominal one so did a trans vaginal one and found the baby with heartbeat in my left tube right next to my ovary. The baby measured 8wks 2 days. I was admitted and had emergency surgery to terminate the pregnancy and lost my left tube. When they went in they found that I was already bleeding internally but tube had not completely ruptured. So yes it is quite possible to have an ectopic with no pain but from what I have heard it is quite rare. While in the emergency room they keep asking me about pain every five minutes and seemed very surprised that I did not want pain medication.

Are pain on the left side of the stomach and diarrhea symptoms of pregnancy or ectopic pregnancy?

Sounds more like a stomach virus or apendicitis to me. But if you think you're pregnant, take a home test or go see a doctor. You can rule out apendicitis because your appendix are on your right side. I am a nurse and yes you can it all depends on the woman. Every womans body is differentand every pregnancy is different also go see a doctor to cnfirm it . i had an ectopic pregnancy about 4 months ago. i had a terrible amount of pain on one side of my body. sometimes the pain would be like a cramp, and other times it would feel more like a knife cutting through me. i also exprienced numbness in my hand and foot on that same side of my body. by the time my doc figured out what was wrong, i had to have emergency surgery. i lost the baby along with my right ovary and tube. if you have an suspicions at all that you may have an ectopic pregnancy...please see you doctor immediately!

How would you know if you lost your baby?

You would have reasonably heavy bleeding that is generally quite painful (if you are in the earlier stages of pregnancy) In the later stages of pregnancy, once you are regularly feeling your baby move, if you have not felt your baby move in 12 hours, you should go to the hospital, however it does not neccessarily mean that you have lost your baby

What are signs of ectopic pregnancy after a partial hysterectomy?

I had an ectopic pregnancy a few years ago in which the embryo had implanted on my appendix! Apparently more than 90% of ectopic pregnancies implant in the tubes, but mine was one of the few that implanted somewhere else. I had episodes of severe abdominal pain for weeks. It took a while for my doctors to figure out I was pregnant since I hadn't missed a period and had an IUD in my uterus. I also had bleeding at random points during my cycle so frequently I lost track of my actual "period" date. An ectopic pregnancy will not advance like a normal pregnancy, so the hcg levels will be much lower. This makes it hard to discover with a home pregnancy test for a little while. You can have a beta hcg blood series done, where they check your hcg levels and can tell you how much hcg you have. If your hcg is higher than 5 you are pregnant, however the most sensitive urine tests won't show a pregnancy until hcg levels are at 25 or higher. In a viable pregnancy, hcg doubles every other day. In an ectopic pregnancy, it doesn't.

Will a blood test show an ectopic pregnancy?

based on dates of your last period and how far along the doctor things you are, the blood test will show something is wrong if you have an ectopic pregnancy. it will have a lower Hcg count. I had an ectopic pregnancy and the doctor told me AFTER my tube ruptured 2 weeks after having blood test that my Hcg levels were kinda low for me being " 5 weeks"( at time of blood draw) Thinking back, when i first got pregnant i felt a really bad pain on my right side, that was the baby implanting in my tube instead of uterus. if you felt that something like that on either side, then perhaps it could be ectopic. if it hurts to make love in certain positions, then it could be ectopic. If you expierence any spotting and REALLY bad cramping, it could be a regular miscaraige or the tube ruptured. I went thru all of these things Hopefully you wont have to go thru what i have, but a blood test is a good way to see that something isn't right. And hopefully you don't have an idiot doctor either. If you do have an ectopic pregnancy, the dr can give you a certain chemotherapy drug to abort the baby and try to save your tube( my retard dr told me this also AFTER my tube ruptured) you can bleed to death if it does pop. i was very close to having to need a blood transfusion, i lost 3 donation bags worth of blood before i got surgery.

Is it possible to go more than three months in an ectopic pregnancy?

Absolutely not--it would have killed you or at the very least put you in the hospital from bleeding. It is possible. I just had an ectopic in June (I ended up taking methotrexate) and my doctor said there is no magic answer to that question. Each woman is different...some can go 3 months without feeling any pain others like my case, only 6 weeks. Best advice is go to your doctor if you have the slightest feeling something may be wrong. WELL the answer to that one is yes i was around 14 weeks 4 days pregnant when i had my ectopic pregnancy it didnt kill me im still alive but i was seriously ill i had to have emergency surgery as my blood pressure was soooo low due to the loss of blood needless to say i lost my baby and my right tube, i still managed to conceive afterwards to and now have a gorgeous 2 year old daughter :) Ectopic pregnancy actually means an out of place pregnancy. Some women with an ectopic pregnancy have gone full term (very rare). So, it really depends on where the egg implanted. Most tubal pregnancies are noticed between 5-8 weeks but even that can vary.

What are the chances of having a ectopic pregnancy after a tubal ligation?

I had my daughter May of 2008 by C-Section& had my tubes tied at the same time. I found out the hard way I was prego June of 2009! Very scary! I almost lost my life! Doctor said my extreme pain & major loss of blood was due to a misscarriage. I was shocked, scared & confused. The pain is worse then the 2nd stage of contrations! Never thought that could happen, but it did. Please be very careful. Doctors dont know everything ecspeacially when it comes to this. Good luck & God bless you.
