Try a hard reboot - ?
Try a hard reboot - hold the power switch in the 'on' position for 30 seconds (count them) and then wait until the Kindle reboots - that will take some minutes. Unplug it from any power source and don't touch any keys until it reboots. If that works, then turn on wireless to repopulate the archive list, which will be empty. With a working 3G connection, this will also reset the time, which the reboot set back to 1970. With a working wifi connection, you will have to go to Home, then press the Menu buttons and select Settings, then go to page 2 and reset the time manually.
