Chances are the rack-and-pinion gears for the mechanical part of the ignition switch are worn and that caused the jam. It can be fixed by slipping a shim under the gear rack but you'll need to disassemble the steering assembly to reach it and this is NOT a job for an amateur mechanic. If you can't afford to pay a repair shop get a "Haynes" service manual for this model (it has a good description of how to do it) and a friend with mechanical skill to help. Good Luck! You can e-mail me at bulruq@Yahoo.com with questions and I'll try to help.
it really should close. maybe if you check and see if it is something wrong with it or is it too full? ever car trunk should close or it is broken or jammed.

Something that is really close together, with almost no space
A piece of machinery is jammed when parts that are supposed to move smoothly do not move at all, because something that does not belong in the machinery has gotten in the way. It is hopelessly jammed if it is jammed so badly that there is no hope of getting rid of whatever is jamming it to make it move smoothly again.
If you have a jammed gas pedal, rather than tapping it until it comes loose, try shifting the car into neutral. Slow down and guide the car to a safe place to stop and then turn off the car.
In order to fix a jammed glove box in a car, a person will need a credit card, screwdriver, hammer, paper clip, and graphite. Force will have to be used to open up the glove box.
