- Even though you and your mother are not talking (you never gave a reason) most mothers would be very hurt if they were not thought of on Mother's Day. You have two options; discuss this with your father and see what he suggests. If it is impossible that your mother cannot attend the Mother's Day play you could ask a step-mother (if you have one) or an aunt or your grandmother to attend in place of your mother. Never feel lesser of a person because your mother may not be able to make it to the play or the fact you do not talk to each other.
