To own a horse, firstly you need knowledge. Do NOT just go into ownership right away thinking it will be fun. You should get lessons for at least two years so you will not end up making your horse sick. If you have your own land that has safe Fencing and shelter, then you can board your horse at home. If not find a safe and reputable boarding stable. If your horse is just a pet you may or may not need tack to ride it. But you will need brushes and blankets. And if your horse is at home buy grain, get a veterinarian to tell you what type of grain and hay to buy and exactly how much to feed.
