many things. flywheel, transmission, shifter linkage, wiring if any since most newer autos are computer controlled. possibly starter depending on flywheel. you may need a longer or shorter drive shaft and the yoke for the drive shaft will be different. you may even need a different crossmember for the trans mission support.
u use a trans jack or if u want to go to a automatic they sale a conversion kit at autozone
try changing the filter and the trans fluid
Pull the transmission dipstick and read what it says on the stick, it will tell you what fluid it requires.
it can be done but is not easy. must install a man trans run linkage from steering column to floor and install stick shift.
need to know if it is and automatic or a standard shift transmission Automatic has no dipstick to check trans fluid.
Is it an automatic? Time for a new transmission... If a stick and 1st, 3rd, 5th are ok, then you have a possible shift cable problem. You should be able to see them on top of the trans. If everthing is moving properly the trans has an internal problem.
yes, that can happen.
none, the trans am package came with a console shifter
Chevy Cobalt has a sealed Automatic Transmission... no dip stick. Probably best to take it in to get service by trans shop if you think it needs changing or re-filling. Thanks, Wes
A His and Her shifter is where you can go from an auto shift to a manual shift with out having to change trans. and things like that.
the closest vw beetles came to having an automatic transmission is called an auto-stickit has a gear shifter like a manual trans, but no clutch pedal. you push down on the stick, and then shift gears.
You need to replace the trans or rebuilted it if it's a stick shift the u have a bad gear if it a automatic then check the fluids in the trans if it good on fluid the it a bad trans or torque converter
