A graphical user interface, commonly abbreviate gui, means there is a visible screen that the user can look at with pictures and such. A command line is just a black background with white typing. There is no mouse or clicking. Its all just code. Go the gui is much easier to use and much more user friendly

What is Computer Command Ride?

You probably mean "Command Line." The command line is a way of interacting with the computer by typing text based commands, rather than using a Graphical User Interface (GUI). Instead of using a mouse to double click the icon of a program, someone using the command line might simply enter the name of the program, and have it run.

Give 2 advantages of using windows encvironment compared with a command line environment?

1) A windowed environment or Graphical User Interface (GUI) is much easier to use. It allows people who are unfamiliar with computers or a particular program to quickly figure out how to use the program. 2) Depending on the skill level of a user, the user might make fewer mistakes if they use a GUI. However, there are advantages to the command line including: 1) Speed - command line programs tend to be smaller and run faster. 2) Control - the command line gives the user must more control than a GUI.

Is the user interface a part of the operating system?

This answer depends on how technical your answer needs to be. The user interface ships with the operating system, so the average computer user might consider the user interface to be a part of the system. If you care to get technical, however, the user interface is not part of the operating system. On all versions of Windows since at least 3.1, the graphical user interface is a module that runs atop the kernel, and is not actually part of the operating system. In fact, it can be swapped out for a different user interface, and the operating system will still run.Similarly, you can remove the user interface, and the system will still operate (this is how some servers are configured; not loading a graphical interface can reduce memory and processor usage). Contrast this to a driver; if you remove a driver, the system will not run that hardware, thus, an installed driver becomes part of the operating system.Technically, anything that runs in "ring level 0" on an Intel-based processor is part of the operating system, and everything else is not. If the user interface were in ring level 0, programs would be running with kernel permissions, and could thus take over the system without difficulty, since they would already be "in the kernel."The user interface is not trusted, and so runs outside the kernel to allow the system to be more reliable.

Why is it important to create a user friendly interface?

A graphical user interface is more user friendly than a command line interface because users do not need to remember commands. Graphical user interfaces also have the advantage of being easier to navigate, a file could be searched for in a guess and check manner as opposed to knowing the file structure.

What is a Xerox star?

"Xerox Star" was the code name for a computer of the type that we might now call a PC, but the Star was designed to work through the Ethernet network with other machines and servers. This was one of the machines on which the graphical user interface was further developed by Xerox both before and after Apple began using that process.

Cisco business grade routers and switches use what is called IOS its a command based os meaning you have to enter commands to configure. There are console ports you can connect to a computer to a router where you can have direct access with the router via putty or hyper terminal (there might be more programs). once you set up like this you have access to the ios command line interface.
