Web 2.0 is essentially an industry buzzword. It does not incorporate any specific new technology enhancements; rather, it is a broad term that characterizes the latest trends in internet usage. The latest trend has been a high degree of user interaction and community building via such tools as Skype, Google Earth, Flickr, Twitter, Blogger and the like. Business processes and productivity have improved due to online applications such as Microsoft Office Live, Google Calendar (and other Google tools), Skype and others. Podcasts, blogging, rss feeds and wikis have rounded out this "new and improved" web experience. So in essence, it isn't any one technology. It's basically a "new and improved" version of the online experience due to the natural evolution of technology as a whole.
