Answer

Scripture says that God is Living, Infinite Truth and God made man in His own image and likeness. Man is therefore made in the image and likeness of Living, Infinite Truth in the same way as a child is made in the image and likeness of his father. In this way we differ from the rest of creation and it would seem that our make-up has at least as much in common with the nature of God as it has with creation.

Answer

As I understand it, this means that God is a person who has both a spirit or soul, and a body. He is a man with a body just like ours with arms and legs and hands and feet. I also believe he has a kind and loving face and heart, and that he has feelings and is understanding. Because he is perfect, he loves us unconditionally. We are created in his physical image and our part is to continue to grow, with his help, and act like him as much as we are able.

Answer

One would need to know what the image of god is or what god is so as to know the image. Paul said, Jesus was created in the image of the Invisible God. If God who was Invisible had an image it would be that which he created to be himself. So to are we all created in the image of our own invisible God, that Invisible God is that God within us our own intelligence, as does all things have a ghost which is the last part of the being to leave the body which the body gives up. Paul said, God was in the image of the first born of every creature, therefore all creatures having intelligence of some kind or to some degree created themselves by the power of there own spirit. As the virgin Mary was over shadowed by the Holy Ghost the Spirit of God conceived the seed of Jesus in the womb of the Virgin. As Jesus hung on the cross he commended his spirit to the father and gave up the ghost his body then lay in the sepulcher.

Been created in Gods image and likeness, means that God is in the shape of a man. we are bascilly created like him. The shape and form that we have, is the mirror image of how god looks in appearance. That's why he said "come, let us make man in our image" God has a head, shoulders, arms, legs etc, and we are made the same, our body is like his body

In the first creation story in Genesis (1:1-2:4a), God chose to create man directly in his own image, suggesting that he was unconcerned that man was god-like.

By comparison, in the second story (Genesis 2:4b-2:20) Adam only becomes god-like as a result of eating the forbidden fruit ("now the man is become like one of us" -3:22), and God is forced to drive Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden for fear that they would also eat of the Tree of Life and be not only god-like, but immortal as well, placing cherubim and a flaming sword to block the path back to the Tree of Life.

It refers to our possession of a soul and free-will.

Note:

The creation of man is covered both in Genesis ch.1 (briefly) and ch.2 (at length).

Rashi commentary (2:8) explains that Genesis ch.1 and 2 form a single set of events, as chapter 2 expands the brief verses of ch.1 with further detail.

An attempt to split the text artificially has been perpetrated by people such as Wellhausen (the father of modern Biblical-criticism, 1844-1918) who suggested attributing the narrative to various authors, despite the Torah's explicit statement as to its provenance (Exodus 24:12, Deuteronomy 31:24). Wellhausen's claims have been debunked one by one, as Archaeology and other disciplines have demonstrated the integrity of the Torah. No fragments have ever been found that would support his Documentary Hypothesis, which remains nothing more than an arbitrary claim, whose falsehood has been pointed out:

How do you create your own god not a serious question seriously?

Well, since people have created god as the embodiment of all the things that they wanted to aspire to (an ideal image of humanity), you can create your own god by creating your own image of the perfect you. And so when you have create that perfect image of yourself, you will have created your own god. From there onwards you will only have to meditate on that image daily and develop parts of yourself so that you can gradually become the perfect you that you have always wanted to be.
