What does Barack Obama value from the US?

There are many internet myths, some of which began on political Talk Shows, which claim President Obama does not value the United States, or does not love America. Such claims are false. The president is an American and he loves his country. He may not agree with every action the government took over the centuries (such as allowing segregation or denying women the right to vote), but it is not anti-American to disagree with decisions the government has made.

That is one thing the president especially admires about America: people have the freedom to agree or disagree, to speak their mind, to express their point of view, as guaranteed in the First Amendment. Similarly, people can disagree with a president's policies, support the candidate of their choice, and advocate for the causes they believe in-- all of these are part of the values that Barack Obama supports and respects. And it should be stated that whether the president is a Democrat or a Republican, and whether you agree with his policies or not, that does not mean he is lacking in American values.
