It stands for SPORT MODE. The engine rpms go higher before it shifts gears, giving you more of a high performance type of feel. You get more power but you also get less fuel economy with this setting. You can probably get a better description from the owner's manual.
sport
For which veh?
the closest vw beetles came to having an automatic transmission is called an auto-stickit has a gear shifter like a manual trans, but no clutch pedal. you push down on the stick, and then shift gears.
Once you remove the dust cover attached to your shifter, you'll see your shaft going into a gear box. There will be a pin to remove and this will allow you to pull the shifter right out. good luck
Youmight have transaxle problems.
It is the eject passenger button, do not push it unless you really dislike the passenger in the car with you
D stands for Drive.
It is screwed on. Turn it counterclockwise. If it is an automatic there is a little horseshoe clip in the front of the shifter just pop it out and the shifter knob will pop off.
Not enough information. Will the car shift gears with the engine off? Is the gear shifter stuck in one particular gear?
That would be the OVERDRIVE selector switch.
The S stands for super.
The [S] on the dash of an automatic vauxhall comes on when you press the [S] button beside the gear shifter, it alters the gear and differential settings for slippery conditions such as snow?
