Flies do not make nests, they lay their eggs directly on a food source.

House flys dont have nests.
I would beg to differ! Not that I know for sure, but... they MUST have some kind of nesting behaviour, because last night when I came home there were approx 50 or more dead or dying houseflies on my bedroom floor! It was like something out of a Horror movie! I'm serious -- there had to be at least 50 of them. I think they must have come in through a small hole that had developed where I seal off my window air conditioner. I have never seen so many houseflies together in the same place at the same time -- how could they not have come from a nest?
I live in Ottawa, Ontario Canada, and it is fall here. We have been having cool crisp nights, and warm sunny days recently, and this is a very common time of year to see increased housefly counts indoors as they come in to get out of the cold. But again, the numbers I saw last night seem to indicate some concentrated source of them.
thnx,
Jennifer
a fly nest would be a dead animal, pile of garbage, pile of sh-- or anything rotten.
Flies lay eggs in rotting meat. the eggs hatch into larva (maggots) which eat the rotting meat and then mature into flies. They dont have hives or nests but they do congregate in large numbers to mate and to share body heat. I guess your room was full of F--King Flies lol

Horsefly bites are red and form a small bump on the skin. The bump turns hard and may develop a pustule on top.
They don't lay their eggs in a nest like a bird. They lay their eggs on anything that can be used as a food source once the eggs hatch.

There is no nest, the immatures are aquatic. Look up tabanidae life cycle.

They're like normal flies-nasty horrid maggots.
You will know that a fly has been annoying a horse if you see him scratching himself. Buy a bottle of fly spray or put on a fly rug and that should sort em out!
A horse fly bite looks like a large raised reddish bruise. or a small tomato without the green bit on top
Horse flies fly using wings, just like any other kind of fly.
