Lobbyists rally and try to influence or change a decision made by a higher authority such as the government. In law, people lobby to influence a decision to their likings, in a sense twisting the law to the way they want it to b and are willing to fight for it.

Lobbyists are people who are in the business of persuading legislators to pass laws that they and their clients would like and beating the ones that they don't liike. In most jurisdictions the lobbyists are regulated by statutes, but at the federal level they can only act according to the provisions of the Lobbying Regulation Acts.(wink,wink)
