An MRI machine uses radio waves and a very, very strong magnetic field to take pictures of the soft body tissues. The radio waves and magnet align the spin of protons and these allow images to be taken.

An MRI machine uses a very strong nuclear magnet resonance (NMR), we use this to look at soft tissues in the body, the brain, muscles, the heart and also having an MRI scan can detect cancers, which has really helped a lot of people, also MRI uses no ionizing radiation.

∙ 13y agoIt takes pictures of what ever body part. The pictures are taken of the inside of (lets say) your head. It shows your brain, not your hair. It doesn't hurt. Never wear metal into it. Very dangerous.
