A check engine light can be a HUGE range of issues. Go to your local advance autoparts or autozone and they can read your vehicles computer for free and will tell you what your vehicle says is wrong with it. (I word it like that because the computer is not always right, a different problem can sometimes trip another kinda fault in the onboard diagnosis.) But will generally point you in the right direction.
