Well, Saudi Arabia is the reference for almost more than 80% of Islamic population and the green color was the color of early Muslims therefore, the green was chosen to be the dominant color in the flag

Green was the favourite colour of The Prophet Muhammad and as such has been adopted as the colour of Islam. It is prominent in the flags of many other Muslim nations (Pakistan, Algeria, Libya)
