I have them now, and was momentarily terrified that it was herpes. Don't panic, herpes sores are also seen around the mouth and on the inside - not just the tongue.
If I am assuming you have the same size ulcers as me, what you need is to apply glycerin to the affected area throughout the day.
A healthy diet and good oral hygiene helps; don't brush too fast. Mine are on the mend, but are still painful. Expect a week or so of suffering.
