He's probably immature and very young. As we get older we learn the wise old lesson of hearing both sides of the story. When young peers are everything and young men usually go in "packs" or groups. It's important that they retain a position in other groups of young men. Sometimes well meaning friends can misjudge something or just be in a miserable mood and enjoy seeing this guy in a turmoil. Still, he has got to learn to listen to his own mind and heart and not let others lead him around by the nose. Forget this guy, and get on with your life. You know you didn't lie and that's all that matters. Sometimes, hard times in our lives are just that so we can weed out the good people in our lives from the bad ones.
