Brown discharge is usually old blood. It is best to have your doctor check you out because women are so prone to vaginal infections. If it is an infection there are antibiotics your doctor can give you to clear it up.
Exercise, good diet and lots of water help with these problems. Your discharge should be odor-free on a normal basis, but during a period this can happen and also some spices and foods (example: asparagus) or taking Vitamin B can change the odor of your discharge.

∙ 9y agoBrown discharge is normal towards the end of your period, it is just the remaining blood leaving your body and mixing with discharge, as it takes time to leave your body it will become brown.
A bad odour is a concern as it may be a sign of a vaginal infection such as Bacterial Vaginosis - an infection where 'bad' bacteria take over within the vagina. You are at slightly higher risk of vaginal infections during menstruation as your vaginal pH is less acidic so more favourable to 'bad' bacteria, if you use tampons the risk is higher as they give bacteria the perfect place to multiply and prevent vaginal cleaning. If the odour continues see your doctor for tests and treatment.

Its probably not from your period, its just probably poop stains. You probably don't wipe yourself good. :) I got it too. If it smells like nothing, then its dried blood before you get your real period. If it smells of poop, then it is poop!

probably a yeast infection. regular discharge should not have much of an odor. I don't believe it leads to the belief of a yeast infection. I think it is common and i have it often but i am a health young woman. ------------------------------ I agree. I don't think its a yeast infection. I get it every month after my period ends. Its smells sweet too and then changes, but I think it discharges as white and stringy and only becomes pasty after its been on my underwear. Tmi, sorry but yeah.
