The term "hijacked" or "highjacked" means to take over a vehicle, usually an aircraft, by force or threat of violence, and redirect it from its intended route to an alternate destination. In the case of September 11, 2001, investigations have concluded that each of the four planes that crashed (1 and 2 into the North and South Tower of the World Trade Center, 3 into the U.S. Pentagon, and the 4th into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania) were all taken over by terrorists affiliated with Al-Qaeda, the extremist Sunni Islamist militant group founded by, now deceased, Osama bin Laden. After being hijacked, the planes were used as weapons of terrorism, murder, and destruction in an act of war against the United States of America.
Two of the hijacked planes crashed into each of the two towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, one crashed into the Pentagon in Washington DC, and one, which had been intended by the hijackers to crash into the White House, instead crashed into an open field because the passengers fought with the hijackers. In all four cases, no one on the planes survived the crashes.
Each was taken over by 4-5 men. Two took over the cockpit and flew the planes while the others took care of the cabin crew and passengers.
2 planes. One hit each tower
Three hijacked planes flew into the Pentagon and each of the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. A fourth hijacked plane was forced down by its passengers before it could destroy a building. Most of the large political events of the 21st Century were a result of these attacks.
Counting seaplanes, reconnaissance (scout) planes, and land based airplanes; there were approximately 300 aircraft apiece on each side.
United Airlines, and American Airlines each lost 2 planes to the attacks on 9/11.
All four planes were hijacked in U.S airspace. American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175 hit both towers of the World Trade Center withn 15 minutes between each other. American Airlines Flight 77 hit the Pentagon in Washington D.C and United Airlines Flight 93 which was going to the Capitol was taken over by the passengers and crashed into an empty field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
There are two towers called the twin towers, on September 11 one plane crashed into each tower.
no planes are not perpendicular to each other because for air resistance the planes are designed in a such way that air is avoided to back side and they are inclined to each other.
Each of the Twin Towers of New York's World Trade Center had 110 stories and were among the ten tallest buildings in the world. The official story states that both towers collapsed as a result of collisions by aircraft, and subsequent fires, during the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack, though a number of conspiracy theorists have suggested otherwise. The Twin Towers had 110 Stories before they both got hit by two hijacked planes. This happened on September 11th 2001, New York City.
There are between 40000 to 50000 planes that take off each day.
