well,it could mean that the person was scared to say it,and when the person got drunk he/she got the nerve to say it,or maby it was he/she saying out of gult for somting that they did rong like cheat,lie,back-stab or thout you where going to leve the relationship and thout saying that would make every thing better i hope i helped you
