The fact that your light is on usually means that your brake fluid is low. It could also mean that you may have a problem with your ABS depending on your vehicle. Dummy lights as people call them differ between years, makes, and models. Check with your owners manual. It could be a couple of things. First and most important, there is a problem with the brakes. Usually the problem rests in the emergency/parking brake being ingaged enough to activate the light. Check the brake handle to see if it is in the correct position. Pull the lever all the way up. let it lock in place, then release the handle and push the handle all the way down. If the light goes off, then problem solved. If not some of the switches that contol this can be adjusted. you will need to see if that is the case with your vehicle. Some vehicle brake light is also activated when the brake pads are wore and need to be replace. Lastly it could be a problem with the computer system. It may need to be reset. hope it helps. duboff
