Well first if your iron is low you are anemic *not sure if that is how you spell it* you just need some iron pills they are not the best in the world to take they are like horse pills but they work, and the high blood pressure you are eating too much salty foods which can also make your legs and ankles swell, drink lots of water, and eat meat for your iron If your iron is low then yes, you are anemic. It does depend how low as when you are pregnant you increase your blood volume which dilutes it a bit. Google anemia (or anaemia) of pregnancy and you will get loads of info. Iron tablets are not always necessary, that is for you and your carer to decide. High blood pressure in pregnancy is never good. It does not come from eating too much salt. But from an imbalance of hormones between mother and baby. It is one of the signs of pre-eclampsia and should always be taken extremely seriously as it can be fatal. Fortunately with modern pre-natal care it rarely is. The other sign of pre-eclampsia is protein in the urine, this means that the kidneys are being affected by the high blood pressure. YOu may find (if you have an old book) that it also mentions swelling of the ankles, this is so common in pregnancy that if that is the only symptom it is usually discounted. If you have had these signs and/or have a bad headache, sudden bad indigestion- like pain or anything you are worried about go to you doctor and if not taken seriously go to the Emergency department, it may save your life.
