Out of the MANY different types of air conditioning and freon, I can safely say many of them use oils that are brightly colored. Green, fluorescent green to be clear. And I do mean a green that will startle you in any quantity. The oil usually has a near mineral oil smell. It is very thin as oils go, and will spread out over a large area typically becoming so thin that color is hard to determine if an oily spot is found. These oily spots indicate a leak.
Note: some appear yellowish but all that I have seen are very very noticeable.
Freon is odorless, but it is possible to smell the refrigerant oil that could also be leaking.
Freon could be leaking anywhere in the ac system. A colored dye can be added to the system, then seen with a special light to find the leak.
Freon is odorless. If you're getting a chemical type smell, it's probably anti-freeze leaking from your fridge.
Freon cooler is leaking from A/C system.
look for wet areas on lines at the o ring fittings.
short anser yes... means there is a problem!
Freon is a gas at room temperature and a liquid when cooled or compressed. Freon gas is colorless, non-flammable and relatively odorless. Some Freons have an ether-like odor.
No, but it's a bit pointless.
Odorless. What you are smelling is antifreeze, leaking from the heater core in your car. I DISAGREE: Freon smells a bit like ether and should not be inhaled. Freon is a gas that does not have a color or smell, however, you should NOT breathe it. More Information on Freon Below: (It CAN have an Odor, and is Dangerous in enclosed spaces!) http://www.ehow.com/list_7631527_symptoms-freon-leak.html http://www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/eh/chemfs/fs/Freons.htm http://www.epa.gov/chemfact/f_freon.txt
You will be better off replacing it that trying to repair it.
Freon is an invisible gas and cannot be seen in the air. If Freon in leaking from a container in large enough amounts and is cold enough, you may notice the condensation of moisture due to the low temperature.
No, two separate systems.
