I think what you heard was "In Sha'a Allah", which means God Willing in Arabic.
You didn't say whether you heard the word, in which case you may have misheard it or if you saw it written, in which case it would be presumptuous to assume you misunderstood how the word was spelled. If you're spelling correctly it or if you at least heard it right and know there are only two syllables not three, it is most likely what you heard is shala, especially if you got it from Moby Dick. It comes from the name of the goddess of storms and when Starbuck calls Ahab it, he means what Ahab is doing is going to create a "storm" that will destroy the ship and everyone on it.
"Om" is a sacred sound and spiritual symbol in Hinduism, while "shala" is a Sanskrit word that means "home" or "abode." Therefore, "Om shala" could be interpreted as the home or sanctuary of the divine sound "Om."
The Sanskrit symbol ॐ represents the sacred sound and spiritual symbol "Om" in Hinduism. It is believed to encompass the essence of the universe, representing the threefold division of time (past, present, future) and the three divine forces (creation, preservation, destruction). Chanting "Om" is thought to bring inner peace, clarity, and connection to the divine.
