its shiney silver with a 223 cap
The raiator is a type of system where all fluid is added to the reservoir instead of the radiator directly, look for the reservoir and you will have found your radiator cap.
It is located against the middle of the firewall. It has a gooseneck with a cap on it, so it is not readily identified.
The radiator does not have a cap, instead, the coolant system reservoir is also pressurized and the pressure cap is on the reservoir.
On a 2002 Mercury Sable : The engine coolant reservoir is at the front of the engine compartment , on the passenger side of the engine compartment ( the engine coolant reservoir has a thread on cap on it , that is your pressure cap / radiator cap )
There is no cap on the radiator; instead, the coolant reservoir is pressurized along with the rest of the cooling system. Look on the passenger side, under the hood. You should see the windshield washer reservoir AND the coolant reservoir. Be careful with the lid of the coolant reservoir. If the engine is hot, it will blow off in your face.
Look between the battery & headlight. The cap should be labeled.
open the hood look at the drivers side it is bolted to the break booster looks like a pound cake pan and the plastic clear bottle with the black cap is you resovoier
On the 3.8 L engine the reservoir cap is hidden behind/underneath the alternator. If you look behind the alternator, you will see two hoses. If you move hoses out of the way and look straight down, you should see all black cap of the power steering fluid reservoir. It's very easy to over look because there is no markings on the cap.
just like it is supposed to look.
It is a cap about 2" in diameter mounted on top of the power steering fluid reservoir. It will have a very short dip stick on the underside. It may or may not be mounted on the pump itself. Look for the pump and follow the hoses to the reservoir. The pump is driven by a belt and that fact will help you find it.It is a cap about 2" in diameter mounted on top of the power steering fluid reservoir. The thread on cap on the coolant reservoir is the " radiator " cap
