Another Pagan PerspectiveJust for the record it is not "the goat pan god" it is the god Pan, he is represented as a faun, sometimes called a satyr. He is a fertility god and the god of the wild places and wild animals. Not to be taken lightly nor to be mistaken for the fluffy creature seen in modern Cartoons as a silly little goat-boy.
Much as today's neo-pagans tend to lump Pan in with the green man, they are in fact different if similar deities.
Not a Pagan PerspectivePan is usually translated into "all". this would be reffering to the fact that all the Olympic gods reveled in his laughter when he was first brought to Olympus by his father Hermes.
Pan is the personification of nature. At least in my eyes he is.
The god Pan had goat legs.
The Great God Pan is dead!
Pan
The Greek god Pan
His name was Pan, only parts of him looked like a goat.
the greek god Pan
Pan
Before Pan was a god he was a satyr which is a mythological creature that is half man and half goat. Once he became a god he kept his earthly form.
the greek god PAN. half man, half goat.
Pan (Faunus in Roman)
Pan is the God of the forest. He is related to the masculine power of nature. The Horned God is worshiped for the success in hunting.
Both the words panic and pandemonium have their origin from the god Pan.
