There is no law that states that a snake is unwelcome or welcome in a place of worship. Although in the oldtestament Snakes were considered unclean and the Jews wanted nothing to do with snakes. so they wouldn't have let them in the temple. But there is nothing in the new law that states a snake is a hindrance in the congregation..

IN DEPTH ANSWER::while there may be no biblical law against snakes in a church, there certainly are State laws against snakes in a church and/or all other places...Each of the 50 states enforce particular regulations for the ownership, handling ,

posession, breeding and displaying of venomous snakes either native or exotic.

40 States require a person to purchase a permit to own,be in posession of , to display or to breed venomous snakes.

10 states Wyoming Wisconsin Arkansas West Virginia South Carolina Oregon North Dakota Nebraska Idaho and Georgia do not require permits but put other regulations in place for the posession of venomous snakes such as limits to the number of species one may posess, requiring a person to have a valid hunting license while searching for snakes, being registered with the dept of Natural Resources, being registered with the state police, requiring the purchase of a breeders license,or other license to buy or sell venomous snakes...

There are also numerous states that have their own endangred species laws which make it illegal in that state to kill, harm, harass in any way or form, remove from its natural habitat or posess any species listed by that state as endangered...some examples are Wisconsins Massasauga Rattlesnake listed as endangered,New jersey's timber rattlesnake listed as endangered,California has over 5 types of venomous snakes listed as endangered...and numerous other states have theirs.

Note: The use of venomous snakes in churches to prove the biblical scriptures of taking up serpents under the protection of god is a fairly old parlor trick that has been used for years upon years by churches as eye candy for the congergation to rejoice over and to draw in the so-called non-believers to the flock which means more money for the church and more money for the preachers pocket..

Years and years back they use to remove the fangs of the rattlesnakes that they were using because these fangs will grow back in a short period of time, and when a bite did occur there were no fangs to inject the venom so the person only suffered a very very mild injury from the snakes very much smaller secondary teeth that are used to guide the prey into the throat. When this happened the person would be amazed and hold up their hand and show that god protected them from the bite of the serpent...

As time went on some people became aware of this parlor trick and the magical mystical preachers of the churches decided to use scientific methods to trick people into believing in such eye candy miracles once again,so the night before the service they would put the rattlesnakes that they were going to use into deep hibernation by placing them into a simple refrigerator set at a controlled 45*F so being reptiles the snakes body functions slow down and their movement and response time are extreemly impared as they are in a state of hibernation just like they are winter time. They would be able to handle the snakes for 1-2 hours before the snakes warmed up enough to become aggressive and bite...this trick is still used today, and even when a bite occurs they still claim that god kept them from dying even though they went to the ER and got the antivenom....

Of course here in the US you wont see any of these snake dancing preachers who are confident enough in the power of their god to pick up and dance around with one of those extreemly deadly snakes that there is no antivenom for and can kill a grown man in under 3 minutes...they like to stick with the much safer rattlesnakes
