Although not totally conclusive some believe his name to mean 'when he dies judgment' or 'in the year he dies it will be sent' both of which are seen as referring to the flood of Noah. This would mean that at the time of his birth his Godly father Enoch was given a prophecy of the coming flood of Noah. The flood did indeed come just after Methusaleh's death, in The Bible record.
