Geography is the mother of history and has an important effect on the makeup of cities. Those cities which are situated along rivers, oceans, seas etc. have a thriving economy as commerce through waters is one of the oldest forms of transport known to man. The opposite is also true for those cities which have no outlet to such routes.

The geographic features of the country's led control the need for it to industrialize, less land therefore means less opportunity to farm.
