In the 1950s, DDT was used in massive quantities that proved lethal to marine life, mainly fish. There have been no conclusive studies (Rachel Carson's famous Silent Spring used incomplete test results) that show DDT affecting avian or human life in any significant way.

∙ 13y agoDDT most affected birds. It decreased the ammount of calcium that was able to be absorbed by birds, when they layed eggs, the shells were so thin that when the mother bird sat on it the shell cracked and killed the baby bird inside.
