At the beginning of the Revolutionary War, England paid a number of Indian Tribes to fight the colonists. The people on the frontier had been neutral and desired to refrain from fighting. When attacked they fought back. After the war, the tribes that had fought for England were forced to flee to Canada. In the South, after Andrew Jackson was elected president, he took the war to the Cherokee forcing the to leave their homes an walk west until General Tsalie was captured and killed.
