Cocaine: extreme stimulant, causing intense rush of energy and agitation; over time, it destroys the brain and -- if taken by snorting -- does massive damage to the nasal passages. It IS addictive, and addicts will do great harm to themselves and others (a) in withdrawal or (b) to avoid going through withdrawal. And (c) while high on coke again, and again, and... In fact, it's how a lot of great entertainers (like John Belushi) have died.

Coca-Cola: caffeine here is the stimulant (except in decaf); sugar is another (except in diet); still, it's just soda and it tastes good. And it's a lot better than lines of white powder up one's nose.

Remember those old public-service TV ads: "This is your brain. This is your brain on drugs. Any questions?" Thought not; you're probably way too young. But they were well-known in the 1980s (which is probably when you were born, unless you're even younger!), and I think some of them can still be accessed via the internet. Might be useful to Google 'Public Service Ads, War On Drugs' or somesuch. In fact, Google 'Cocaine' too. But don't use it. As for soda, Coke or Pepsi are okay, in moderation. But don't try using cocaine "in moderation," because drugs like that never work that way; that's why they're illegal.

As for the comment below: illegal drugs are worse than soft drinks. You wrote your whole answer in the font used for headers. And your spelling is so bad that the average coke-head or crack-smoker would seem like a Harvard grad by comparison. I find it difficult to believe you are literate enough to read the label on a soda bottle. As for street drugs, they don't come with labels, not that I'd know. I've actually never used them. As for the "health nut" vibe that loftily preaches that people who "use" soft drinks are just as bad as drug addicts, save it. I have reason to doubt you do much thinking, ever. On the issue(s) of morality and conscience, I have no comment.

As for the comment above: The "average coke-head" probably did go to Harvard. It's a party drug. You know, the kind of thing people try and become addicted to in college? It's not just stupid people who use drugs; people from all social classes and who have gone through all levels of education have made their mistakes. And when you say you've never used any sort of illegal drug, what makes you feel like you're qualified to comment on the effects of them?
