I found out that the brake light switch (also called stop light switch) has two functions: 1 - It allows the brake lights to come on when the brakes are applied. 2 - It allows the transmission to shift out of Park position when the car is started on. It costs around $22 at the dealership and only $5 at the autopart store. The removal and installation of this switch was also fairly easy. It is located under the steering column area; it is mounted on the brake pedal, has an eleactrical plug connected to its two-prong connnector and it gets activated when the brake pedal is applied. It takes less than 5 minutes to install it.

1992 buick lesabre runs fine you shut it off then 30 mins later it stalls a half mile down the road maf cps vss sensors all changed?

we had the same problem. we changed the Crankshaft Position sensor, and also the camshaft position sensor. changed ignition coils, and the module under the ignition coil, and still had the stalling problem. an auto mechanic bought it from us and he discovered all that it was was a pinched wire under the ignition module.
