Lack of economic opportunity for women.
Poor access to medical care. (APEX)
Many reasons. Some of them are:
a) High infant/child mortality rate, so people have more children with the belief that only half of them will reach adulthood (but in reality more than 3/4th).
b) Women gets no opportunity to put herself out of always-child-bearing stage as soon as she had enough children like 2 or 3.
c) Culture among Africans are also very superstitious.
Many Africans believe their manhood will be proven as intense only if they have very larage number of children.
d) Africans also tend to have relatively lower IQ (proved consistently by many studies). So this is also could be a main reason for them not realising bad consequences of too many children.
