On the west, France has no neighbour, but is bordered by the Atlantic (bay of Biscay) and the English channel. On the north, towards Belgium and Luxembourg, there is no natural border. En the east, the Rhine river separates France from Germany; the Jura mountain range, the lake of Geneva and the Alps separate France from Switzerland, the Alps separate France from Italy. There is no neighbour on the south-east (the Mediterranean Sea). To the south, France is separated from Spain by the Pyrenees mountain range.
