according to the case of Estrada vs. Desierto... 1. EDSA 1 involves the exercise of the people power revolution which overthrows the WHOLE Government, while EDSA 2 is an exercise of people power of freedom of speech and freedom of assembly to petition the governement for redress of grievances which only affected the office of the president. 2. EDSA 1 is extra-constitutional and the legitimacy of the new governemnt that resulted from it cannot be subject of judicial review, while EDSA 2 is intra-constitutional and the resignation of the sitting president that it caused and the succession of the VP as president are subject to judicial review. 3. EDSA 1 involves political question while EDSA 2 involves legal question. ---from: Atty. Edwin Rey Sandoval Notes POLITICAL LAW REVIEWER 2007.

EDSA 1's effect is it united the Filipino people to fight for their rights and proved that war can be won without using weapon and without violence so is true in EDSA 2 but in EDSA 2 many Filipnos believed that who they appointed in the position to replace the former president is not worthy of the place and they are now asking her to leave the seat.
