The giving of the law of God on Mount Sinai. God's miraculous provision of food and water in the wilderness - manna and quail and water from the rock. Quite a number of occasions where the Israelites grumbled.

The nine plagues in order in which they were sent to Egypt?

There were ten plagues sent to Egypt, as listed in Exodus chapters 7 - 12.1. Blood - Aaron strikes the Nile River (Exodus 7:20) and it [and other contained water sources] turns to blood.2. Gnats - Aaron strikes the dust of the earth (Exodus 8:13) and a plague of gnats descends upon Egypt.4. Flies - No action on Moses or Aaron's part is noted here. (Exodus 8:17-20)5. Cattle Disease - No action on Moses or Aaron's part is noted here. (Exodus 9:1-7)6. Boils - Moses throws dust in the air, resulting in skin boils and lesions among the Egyptians (Exodus 9:10)7. Hail - Moses stretches his hand to the sky, and hail (fiery hail?) began to fall. (Exodus 9:23)8. Locusts - Moses stretches his hand over the earth, and a plague of locusts begins (Exodus 10:13)9. Did all the Hebrews who left Egypt go to Canaan?

According to the Bible, all the Hebrew people who left Egypt died in the wilderness, apart from Joshua and Caleb. However, all their decendents are said to have gone to Canaan. However, a near consensus of scholars is reported to believe that there never was an Exodus of Hebrew people from Egypt, as described in the Bible. If the Hebrews did not leave Egypt under Moses, they did not go to Canaan.

What is the meaning of God in the story of the Ten Plagues?

According to the Torah there were four meanings that God wanted to show the world in this story:a. All will acknowledge God as Lord:"And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I stretch forth My hand upon Egypt, and bring out the children of Israel from among them" (Exodus, 7:5)"thus saith the LORD: In this thou shalt know that I am the LORD--behold, I will smite with the rod that is in my hand upon the waters which are in the river, and they shall be turned to blood" (Exodus, 7:17)"And that thou mayest tell in the ears of thy son, and of thy son's son, what I have wrought upon Egypt, and My signs which I have done among them; that ye may know that I am the LORD" (Exodus 10:2)b. All will acknowledge God as Lord "In the midst of the earth" (meaning that he has power and is concerned over what happens in this world):"And I will set apart in that day the land of Goshen, in which My people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there; to the end that thou mayest know that I am the LORD in the midst of the earth". (Exodus, 8: 18)"And Moses said unto him: 'As soon as I am gone out of the city, I will spread forth my hands unto the LORD; the thunders shall cease, neither shall there be any more hail; that thou mayest know that the earth is the LORD'S" (Exodus, 9:29)c. All will acknowledge that there is none like God in the world"And he said: 'Against to-morrow.' And he said: 'Be it according to thy word; that thou mayest know that there is none like unto the LORD our God." (Exodus 8:6)"For I will this time send all My plagues upon thy person, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people; that thou mayest know that there is none like Me in all the earth." (Exodus 9:14)d. All will see that God favors the people of Israel:"And I will set apart in that day the land of Goshen, in which My people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there; to the end that thou mayest know that I am the LORD in the midst of the earth. And I will put a division between My people and thy people--by to-morrow shall this sign be." (Exodus, 8: 18-19)"And the LORD shall make a division between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt; and there shall nothing die of all that belongeth to the children of Israel." (Exodus 9:4)"They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days; but all the children of Israel had lightin their dwellings." (Exodus 10:23)"But against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog whet his tongue, against man or beast; that ye may know how that the LORD doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel." (Exodus 11:7)

What caused the Israelites to be enslaved in the Old Testament?

After Joseph had become the second ruler in the land of Egypt after Pharaoh, Joseph's brothers came down to Egypt to buy grain as there was a famine in the land of Canaan. They did not recognize Joseph as their brother at first, but later he made himself known to them. Going back to Canaan they told their father Jacob about Joseph and Jacob and Joseph met after many long years of being apart. Soon Jacob and all his family moved to Egypt to be with Joseph. They lived there in peace and prosperity for many years until a new Pharaoh came into power. This new Pharaoh was afraid of the people of Jacob because they had grown to be many people and he had not known of Joseph and so he enslaved them.

How was Moses staff used?

The Bible often uses the staff or rod to symbolize the authority one has or the authority vested in him by another. Moses' staff became a symbol of his authority and commission from God when he appeared before the older men of Israel, also when he appeared before Pharaoh and the magic-practicing priests of Egypt. (Exodus 4:29-31; 7:9-12) And at God's direction, Moses lifted up his staff over the sea and "split it apart" that the Israelites might escape on dry land. Afterward God had Moses stretch out his staff again, and the waters plunged down on the Egyptians, drowning them all including Pharaoh! (Exodus 14:21-3; Psalm 136:15)
