Key things that Hitler did in 1933-34 included: * Assuming dictatorial powers (in stages in February-March 1933). * Unleashing the Stormtroopers (Brownshirts) on the Communists, Social Democrats and others. * Insisting on abolute priority of massive rearmament (February 1933). * Issuing decrees against Jews (March 1933 onwards). * Centralizing government by appointing special commissioners and the like for the various German states. (They were abolished in January 1934). * Banning all political parties except the NSDAP.

After the word that the Russians were closing in, and that he had lost the war. Hitler realized that since he did very bad things to Russians in the years of the war. That if the Russians would capture him and most likely give him the death sentence or torture. So, Hitler and his wife, Braun, both committed suicide. Hitler shot himself in the head while Braun took a bite of a cyanide. The remains of the body's were taken through the exit door and covered in gas,set on fire.

When Hitler recognized that he was fighting a losing war, he committed suicide. Shortly after, the Nazi party surrendered.
