The Transmission Fluid filter typically sits at the bottom on the trans oil pan. the oil in the trans gets picked up through the filter, and then proceeds through the gears, (and clutches if an auto). With a dirty transmission fluid filter, it'll be full of metal shavings and particulate. This, in turn, will not allow your trans to get the required amount of fluid....Causing heat and premature wear....It can also cause your transmission to hesitate....Which can be unsafe when making turns through traffic. Hope that helped you. Good luck!
you dont its inside the transmission the only way to get it out is to remove the trans from the car and disasemble the unit
you should. its def worth it. you dont absolutely have to, but you really should.
I have a 2002 lancer and I have had to change the transmission twice. when we went to change out the first transmission we were going to change the filter just to have fresh start and we ran into the same problem as you. We called a transmission company and we were told that you had to completely disassemble the transmission to get to it so generally u just dont change it. This was the dumbest thing ever but upon calling other companies it sadly seems to be the truth.
Change the Control main filter "Small spin on filter in the front". Drain fluid from plug in the rear of pan, Add about 8qts of fluid, then check level and top off, while truck is idling in park. "DONT THROW AWAY THE MAGNET WHEN YOU CHANGE THE FILTER" Allisontech
You have to remove the transmission pan. you dont drain you go to an oil change place and they will suck the oil out thru the filler tube on modern transmissions when u drop the pan and change the filter you do not get the oil that is in the torque converter,so u are not doing a proper oil change it has been roven that dropping pan and filter will lead to a quick death of the transmission
you dont there's no filter trans flush only
my 2001 maxima has a permanent filter in the gas tank. you dont have to change it.
sure dose the filter is in side of the trans take the pan off the bottom of the trans and you can see it if you dont know where the filter is get some one who knows how to change it for you the pan bolts have to be tourked when it is put back on
you dont change oil on a transmission
950 ml when you change the oil filter, but just 900 ml if you dont change the oil filter
drain the transmission fluid drop the pan an you should see it. if not drop the next component in line an itll be there. reassemble replace fluid. DONT get any dirt on anything an DONT drop or bend anything. other wise your transmission wont work right if at all
i dont think there is one just a drain and fill. if there is a spring and ball in the drain pay attention to how they come out. i blew my trainy by not putting them in right. Honda Accords do not have transmission fluid filters. That is why they recommend changing the transmission fluid so often. If you can change your own oil, you can change the transmission fluid - it is easy.
