Yes it is. If you don't wear a tampon, right when you get into your swimsuit get right in the pool, and the bleeding will calm down. Right when you get out, go straight to the toilet before blood drips down your legs.

The best thing would be to wear a tampon or a panty liner. But you can still do what I said; it works and no one will know you have your period! :)

You're always going to get a answer to a question like this according to the persons opinion. A lot of people say its unsanitary and gross. Then, a lot of people say its fine and you're period stops when you go in the water. Here's my personnel opinion, yes, go swimming and have a good time! Have you ever taken a bath while on your period? If you have, you should notice your not sitting in a pool of red water. Your period doesn't "Stop" when you get in water, the blood simply dilutes in the water. Just make sure when you get out of the pool, you have a towel around you. (blood might come down your leg, not always, but if you have a heavy period, it probably will). Don't wear a pad in the pool! It will only get waterlogged and look like a diaper in your swimsuit! Also, dont wear a g-string bikini if you're on your period. Other than that, you should be 100% fine. (By the way, I do this all the time)

It all depends on how heavy your flow is and what type of suit you're wearing (loose vs tight, extra layers of fabric "down there" etc...)

It is true that in water, pressure keeps a lot of blood from coming out, but that stops as soon as you get out of the pool, so unless you have a heavy flow, ou should be okay, but it's always safest to use tampons

Yes, but you still need to use some form of internal menstrual products.

Options you can use to swim on your period:

  • Tampons
  • Soft tampons
  • Menstrual sponges
  • Menstrual cups
  • Diaphragms
  • Softcups

You can't swim without using anything, you will continue to bleed in the pool and it can be more obvious when you get out as blood will be diluted slightly so may be more likely to run down your leg. Although menstrual blood isn't dirty no one wants to swim through your blood or have pieces of your uterine lining ending-up in their hair! You can't use liners or pads in the water either as the blood won't flow down into the pad, the pad would be saturated with water so unable to absorb flow, not to mention that it will potentially come unstuck and come apart.

To swim during your period you should use one of the following:

  • Tampons.
  • Soft tampons.
  • Menstrual sponges.
  • Menstrual cups.
  • Diaphragms.
  • Softcups.

It's a myth that your period stops in water - your uterus cannot detect when you're in water to know to stop - lighter flow may be diluted in water so less noticeable but heavier flow will be noticed, especially if passing pieces of uterine tissue that won't dilute at all in water.

Menstrual cups are the best option as they're safer than tampons so can be worn before your period is due or when flow is light, they can be worn safely for up to 12 hours and unlike tampons have nothing showing externally, don't absorb water, don't increase cramps, and don't leak.

You do not stop bleeding in the water - this is a myth.

When flow is light what little comes out can be diluted in the water so is less noticeable, but if flow is heavier and especially if you're passing uterine tissue it will be noticed - water pressure doesn't stop bleeding, that doesn't sit the laws of physics or Biology! You can test this for yourself in a shallow bath, you will see the blood leaving your body, and when you get out blood will drip down your leg.

To swim during your period you need to use internal options:

  • Tampons
  • Soft tampons
  • Menstrual sponges
  • Menstrual cups
  • Diaphragms
  • Softcups

Menstrual cups are best as they're safer than tampons, thus they can be worn for up to 12 hours and can be worn even when you have light flow so more convenient than tampons. Menstrual cups also don't increase cramps, have anything showing externally, absorb water, or leak like tampons.

Although tampons are a popular to swim during your period, there are other products you can use to swim during your period; menstrual cups, softcups, diaphragms, sponges.

If a woman was to go swimming without any form of internal sanitary protection she would bleed in the pool - menstrual flow is no less hygienic than vaginal discharge, but no one wants to swim through someone elses blood!

During very light flow a woman may be able to swim without using internal sanitary products - what little flow does leave the body will be diluted in the water so less obvious, although heavier flow and uterine tissue will be noticeable.

Yes, you can go swimming while on your period without a tampon as long as you use another internal menstrual product. You can use menstrual cups, menstrual sponges, softcups, or diaphragms to swim on your period - menstrual cups are the best option as they can be worn with any flow and don't leak like other options. You cannot swim without any protection as the blood will get into the water - menstruation does NOT magically stop in the water.

Tampons aren't the only option people who menstruate can use to go swimming - you can also use menstrual cups, softcups, menstrual sponges, diaphragms, and soft tampons.

If you were to swim without any protection at all then blood would get into the water. If flow is light what little blood that leaves the body is likely going to be diluted in the water so go unnoticed. If flow is heavy then blood and uterine tissue that leaves the body is going to be noticed in the water.

Tampons and swimming?

You don't have to use tampons to swim while on your period. You can use menstrual cups and softcups for swimming, as well as safer than tampons cups can be worn with light flow which tampons can't, menstrual cups also don't leak like other options. You can also simply sit-out of swimming while you're on your period, it's up to you what you use and what you do on your period.

You can't use tampons but you have a swimming class every Monday and Wednesday what do you do please help?

You can use any of the following to swim on your period:Tampons.Soft tampons.Menstrual sponges.Menstrual cups.Diaphragms.Softcups.Menstrual cups are the best option as they're safer than tampons, this is also beneficial because unlike tampons they can be worn for up to 12 hours and even when your flow is light - thus no skipping swimming on days when your period is due or when flow is light. Menstrual cups don't increase cramps, absorb water, have anything showing externally like a string, and don't leak.If you can't use any internal menstrual products (listed above) then you simply can't swim on your period, all you do is let your teacher know that you're on your period and skip those lessons. You can't get into trouble for not being able to swim on your period, just do something else in that time.

Should you wear a tampon when receiving a massage though your period is not on?

No, tampons should only be used when you're on your period. Never use when not menstruating as this will be uncomfortable and potentially increase your risk of contracting Toxic Shock Syndrome. There's absolutely no reason to use tampons when not on your period, having a massage makes no difference: there's no reason why you should need to use tampons while having a massage.

What can you do to hide the period while you are swimming?

To swim during your period you would need to use internal menstrual products in order to stop the blood from getting in the water - although menstrual blood is no less hygienic than other vaginal fluids, no one wants to swim through your menstrual flow. You can use any of the following options:TamponsSoft tamponsMenstrual spongesDiaphragmsSoftcupsMenstrual cupsMenstrual cups are the best option as they're far safer than tampons, this also means that unlike tampons they are safe to use during light flow. Menstrual cups are also best as unlike tampons they don't increase cramps, absorb water, have anything showing externally, or leak like tampons, so best for swimming.

Do you still need a pad or tampon after you period?

No, tampons and pads (also other menstrual products) are only needed on your period.Once your period is over you no longer use tampons or pads, in fact as your period comes to an end you need to stop using tampons because tampons cannot be used with light flow or spotting. It is a good idea to carry tampons and pads with you ready for when your next period starts, if you're young menstrual cycles can be irregular so your periods can start suddenly without warning.
