The ash is taken to a landfill. The metal is being recycled. Fertilizers help plants and nutrients are also produced and help plants too. Water is being evaporated then precipitation including rain than enters streets or yards flows into storm drains then into storm sewers. The cycle begins again. The useful water is being used then the thing that I told you is told again

City- it goes to the sewers where it is then transferred to a waste renewal facility
and circulated back to your home. (sounds bad right?)
Country- Down the drain and out to the septic tank to sit till it is pumped out
